Snowsurfpro Backcountry adventures
SnowSurfPro is an independent guiding company established in 2019 to explore the backcountry of Russian mountains. We are a collective of professional mountain guides and inspired friends who are passionate about powder, surfing and adventures and we invite you on a lifetime journey with us! Our mission is to unite people through adventure.
Here is the list of our destinations:

We start our heliski season early in November at the coast of Lake Baikal, the largest freshwater lake on earth, with its magnificent views and excellent powder skiing.

From mid-November to mid-March, our heliski base operates in Western Siberia, where in the mountains of Zailiysky Ala-Tau you will find endless snow fields, fantastic forest skiing and the best powder of Siberia.

From early November we operate in the Mekka of Siberian skitour destination Luzhba. It's the place to be in December if you are passionate for human-powered travel in the backcountry with deep powder and fantastic terrain away from tourist crowds.

Our main winter base is situated on the coast of Black Sea. We start operating here from the end of December. It is Krasnaya Polyana (Sochi) home of the 2014 winter Olympics and some of the best powder and lift assisted steep terrain in the world. Here we provide resort guiding which can be as intense and rewarding as heliski our programms here:

We offer two heliski programs in Sochi region. First one is straight from Krasnaya Polyana and second is from Abkhazia just 1 hour drive from Krasnaya Polyana.

From mid of January we start to operate heliski operation in Arkhys its the big mountain playground in the heart of Northern Caucasus

In early April we migrate to the far east of Russia to Kamchatka peninsula to the land of fire and ice to end up our heliski season in northern hemisphere

During mid August we move to the south hemisphere to Chile in search of endlees powder during heliskiing in Andes.

Besides our skiing programmes, we offer assistance in filming and photography production, outdoor and ski events organization, avalanche safety consulting and educational courses.

We Also organise surf trups during summer season in norhern hemisphere.

Meet the Team
  • Peter Yastrebkov
    Founder & Director. Snowboard guide
    Peter has been snowboarding professionally since 1998. He has been a member of Russian national Freestyle team for years and won multiple national and international contests. But his passion has always been big mountains deep power and surfing both on snow and water.

    Peter is one of the first guides in Russia to gain ski guide certification on a splitboard through the Russian Mountain Guides Association. Driven by a love of nature and passion for snowboarding, he has developed a healthy respect for the mountains and depth of experience from years of adventures and working in the backcountry industry.

    Peter rides for Quicksilver and Lib Tech snowboards.

    Besides guiding education Peter also has a degree in International Relations.
    When it's finally time to put the snow gear away for the season, Peter can be found surfing and foiling on different spots around the world from Indo to Fiji.
  • Oleg Kolmovskii
    Filmer
    Oleg is a skilled skier and experienced kayker. Since early age he has been fond of making videos. In 2018 he graduated from Moscow Film School.

    Oleg travel with us a lot and he also has been one of the main filmers for Ride the Planet project for many years.

  • Aleksandr Mavrin
    Ski Guide
    Alex is a ski guide accredited by Russian Mountain Guides Association. Alexander has been working in the heliski industry in Russia since 2013. He has worked as an avalanche forecaster for Rosa Khutor resort in Sochi and avalanche course instructor for the Russian Mountain Guides Association.

    During summer Alex flies on balloons and organise one of the biggest ballon festival in the middle of Russia.

  • Maxim Anufrikov
    Ski Guide
    Max is one of the most experienced guides in our team with almost 40 years of skiing background and 20 years of guiding around the world. Besides Russia he organised trips and expeditions to Japan, Canada, Chile, New Zealand, Norway and of course in the Alps.
    He is one of the first ski guide accredited by Russian Mountain Guides Association.
    For the last 10 years he calls Krasnya Polyana his home.

    In summer time Max rides downhill bikes and kayaks a lot both in Sochi and in Norway.
  • Alexander Stupchenko
    Ski & Snowboard Guide
    • Alex is talented skier and snowboarder. He gained his ski guide certification through Russian Mountain Guides Association. Alex is based in Sochi, Russsia and has worked in Rosa Khutor avalanche department.
    • During summer time he organises tracking programs in the mounains of Northern Caucasus
  • Marco Gayani
    Mountain Guide / Ski Guide

    Marco has been a qualified mountain guide since 1996 and is a member of the Chamonix Guides Company, a ski instructor and an instructor at France's National Skiing and Mountaineering School (ENSA).
    His inquisitive nature and love of wild places has led him to ski and climb many of the world's most beautiful mountains, but Kamchatka is where his heart lies.
    He splits his winter season guiding at heliski operations at Baikal, Arkhyz, Sochi and Kamchatka.

  • Nikolay Veselovskii
    Ski Guide
    Nikolai has more than 20 years of Heliski guiding experience, he is the first one who stared heliski operations in Kamchatka.
    Nikolai is one of the founders of Russian Mountain Guides Association and was the first presidet of the Association.
    Nikolay is a Russian heli-ski guide and Mr Vertikalny Mir. He never stops and is omnipresent on every front.
